Ruined

It was 6 in the morning. Birds were chirping and everyone's daily routine began.

While everyone was busy focusing on their schedule, there was a guy sleeping without caring about his life.

The plates with half-eaten junk food and sugary items and beverages were scattered around his room and he was sleeping without getting disturbed. Marijuana packets were laying on the floor of his room.

This is his daily routine. Having food, stress eating sugary items, smoking Marijuana and sleeping. In these 5 months, he had spoiled his health and has become an victim of stress eating. To cope up with the stress, he finds comfort in eating junk foods and sugary beverages. Due to the excessive sugar consumption, he had put on lots of weight but he was least bothered about it.

Mathew's POV:

I was in deep slumber. I woke up with a jerk when I heard someone's voice.

I sat on the bed and closed both my ears with my hands.

"Stop, Stop..."

"But, I like you so much. Ennaku ungala rombo pudikum. Don't do this to me."

"Why? Ipo enna hurt pannaganu sonna you'll be happy la. So, to make you happy, I'll tell you something. Ama, they hurt me, badly. Podhuma? Epome neenga solluveengala Gunda irukenu adhe dha avangalum solli kalaichanga, podhuma? Happy? Venumna poi avanga kooda katchi serndhu enna hurt pannuga, ponga."

These words were echoing in my mind again and again.

Who is uttering those words? I have been hearing such voices from past 2 months. What's wrong with me?

I guess, I have to meet a psychiatrist.

I stood up from the bed and decided to go inside the washroom but my head started spinning. I felt dizzy and fell on the bed.

Aahhh, my head is aching as well. What's wrong with me?

After I became normal, I heeded to the washroom. I washed my face and gazed into the mirror.

I was shocked to see my face. I had become obese and my face has become so fat that I looked unrecognisable.

Then, I grabbed my car keys and decided to go to the beach for a walk. I locked my house and drove to Besant Nagar beach.

I parked my car and started walking towards the sea.

The fresh air was blowing on my face. While walking, I saw a happy couple who were running behind each other.

Suddenly, I yearned for such kind of love but I never found one.

All girls who were with me were gold-diggers. No one remained true to me.

I came out for my thoughts and focused on walking towards the beach.

That's when, someone bumped me.

"Sorry, sorry, bro...", that person said and looked at my face.

My face relaxed seeing that person.

"Hey, Ranjeet.", I said.

He looked at me with confusion.

"Enna da? Epdi iruka?", I asked.

"Is it Mathew?", he asked.

I looked at him in shock.

"Ama, enna en mugathai marandhutiya?", I asked.

"Hey, enna da? Epdi iruka?", he asked me and hugged me.

"Enna da ipdi ayita?"

"Yen, ennaku enna?", I asked.

"You look unrecognisable. Semmaya weight potuta and also, enna da idhu dark circles lam?"

"Mm...yeah...", that's when I realised how my physical appearance has changed.

"Vaa, ukandhu pesuvom.", he said.

"Enna da aachu? Gym freak nee, gym poradha vitutiya?", he asked.

"Ama, da plus neraya stress vera.", I said.

"Stress huh? Stress eating panriya, enna? Un wife vera super huh samaipangale."

I rolled my eyes and tried to divert her topic.

"Illa da, apdilam. Gym poganum, naan. Ennake enna parka pudikala.", I said.

"Hey, apdilam solladha. Adhellam seekiram back to form vandhuralam.", he said.

Then, we spoke about what was happening in his life. He is going to get married in a few months.

"Aprm, un life epdi pogudhu? You are a proud husband of a great influencer.", he said.

"What? Yaaru proud husband?", I asked.

"Nee dha . Enna theriyadha madhiri kekura. Stella evlo inspiring aana velai ellam senjiru irukanga, husband proud huh feel sonna matara apo?", he asked.

I didn't understand. What the heck is she doing and showing off in front of everyone? She might have found a rich guy and might be flaunting his money.

"Puriyala.", I said.

"Loosu, enna marubadiyum marandhutiya Stella profession, pathi?", he asked.

"Sollu da, ennanu."

"Avanga website super huh reach aagi iruku. Neraya peruku counselling kudukuranga and also, ipo rape victims kum a new hope tharanga, da. She is providing work for other women as well. She has also become a influencer on Quora with 20,000 followers and 10.5 Million views. Celebrity ayiduvanga pola seekiram. En friend oda wife ivlo talented nu nenikave perumaiya iruku da. You are very lucky.", he said.

What, she has become famous, now? My God, how come? I wasn't able to believe my ears.

"Epo da treat veika pora? And, I want to tell you something. Iniku, veetuku vandhu Stella va parthu poren, da. Varalana la un veetuku?", she asked.

"Ranjith, I want to tell you something.", I said.

"Enna da? Veetuku varadhanu solla poriya?", he asked.

"No da. Actually, me and Stella aren't together."

"We aren't together na? Avanga veli ooru poi irukangala enna?"

"No, da. We got divorced five months ago.", I said.

"What? Enna da solra? Are you serious?"

"Yes da."

"But, why?", he asked.

"Because...", I told him every time but never revealed about my accident.

"Idiot, such an idiot you are. Naan aniku avlo solliyum thirumbi adhe thappa dhan panni irukala.", he said.

"Enna sonna nee?", I asked.

"Enna sonnena? Un kita evlo eduthu sonnen avanga gold digger lam kadaiyadhu, she's a good person and don't see her physical appearance, look how pure her heart is nu. Ana, nee thirundhama marubadiyum adhe thappa panni iruka. Look how famous she is, now. She's famous for helping people to deal with their traumas. You are an unlucky fellow, da.", he said and stood up from the sand.

"Onnu mattum solren no matter how much you search for, you won't be able to find such an amazing girl like Stella. Heartless, psycho. I'm feeling ashamed to even address you as my best friend.", he said and walked away.

I looked at the moving figure of Ranjith.

Am I that bad that he's addressing me as heartless psycho. No, I'm not a psycho.

I recalled the differences between Stella and my ex-girlfriend. The way she comforted me when I lamented about the death of my mother. Stella comforted me while my girlfriend hardly cared to even check upon me.

I also recalled her dad's words in the court.

"Mathew, I thought you'll understand my daughter's pain and trauma and heal her. But, the opposite happened. Thanks for returning my daughter father than killing her everyday."

"Mathew, enough of all this thinking. Don't think about a third person she's not more in your life. Move on and start a new life.", I said to myself.

I shrugged off her thoughts and decided to leave the beach.

I looked at an ice cream truck there and a woman was standing near the truck and scolding a little girl, soundly.

"Unnaku andha ice cream ellam vangi thara mudiyadhu. Mudinja indha 10rs ice cream huh sapdu illana apdiye poidu."

The girl was crying, silently.

It disturbed me a lot. Why am I feeling uncomfortable seeing this?

I started hearing a voice.

"Ipdi saptu saptu dha urundaiya vandhu nikura. Unnaku venumna naan vangi tharadha sapadu illana vaaiya mooditu iru. Ipo venuma venama?"

I closed my ears with my hands.

Who's uttering such words? What's all this?

Am I abnormal? How come someone say such words to somebody?

I was recalling those words which rang in my ears.
