The night was heavy with the oppressive silence that had fallen over Arjun’s world. After whatever happened with Ishita, he wanted to find an escape from reality. He just sat on the couch, eyes bloodshot, veins filled with the remnants of the drugs still lingering in his system. The flashing lights from the TV illuminated the room, but he wasn’t paying attention. His mind was numb, the weight of his choices and the chaos of his life hanging over him like a dark cloud. The haze was comforting, a reprieve from the endless guilt and frustration gnawing at him.
Just as he slouched further into the couch, his phone buzzed violently on the table. He ignored it at first, but the ringing persisted. Annoyed, he picked up the call, barely glancing at the screen.
